Location: Debre Sina/Debre Berhan (~around 6 hours drive from Addis)

Mesobit Elementary school is one of the first projects of UTRBE is working on. The School has around 300 students and unfortunately most of the school structures were destroyed by terrorists. Team Lewegenea (ለወገኔ) took on this task and been supporting this project. Our team visited the site in 2022 and quickly realized the devastation of the area. We decided to create a new building given the condition of the remaining structures. UTRBE donated uniforms, books, materials to mitigate the immediate need of the students. We collaborated with Debre Berhan University Engineering department to help us create a project plan, implementation plan and design.

The project launched early 2023 and has been progressing very quickly. So many collaboration with the local community, Wereda officials and university. This would not happen without the continued effort and support of many. Expected to complete the project August 2023!
